That's me in 100 objects & what did I learn? Count your blessings!

I've really enjoyed this mini-project archiving my life. It's been by turns nostalgic, emotional, tiring and boring. It's made me realise how blessed I am that I had such a happy childhood and upbringing and I owe that to God and my wonderful parents, family and friends.

I'm also really glad that I now have this record for posterity. Some of the items I have thrown away so this digital record will be the only thing that remains to jog my memory.

Undertaking this project has just reinforced the value in looking back, reminiscing and counting your blessings!

Maybe you've been inspired to do the same?

Object #95 hilarious notes left by me and housemates at university c.1996

No one had a mobile phone when I was at university. In order to leave notes for each other we used post it notes on our bedroom doors. I'm so glad I was daft enough to save these. My favourite is: 'having an "exams have finished lie-in"! Getting up in time for 15 to 1' -

15 to 1 was a daytime quiz show on at 4.15pm!

Object #94 Move on up at The Underground Leeds - flyers 1996-99

The Underground was the coolest, friendliest night club in Leeds when I was a student. Our favourite night was the 60s soul night 'Move on up'. When The Underground closed this night moved to the HiFi club but it was never quite the same. Very cool flyers - I had them on my bedroom wall.

Object #93 Fanta Spinner yoyo c.1988

P3384

I think this was my best toy growing up. They were sold with coca-cola products. We had a Brazilian champion yoyo player come into our school (I don't think they were that worried about product placement in schools in the 80s!) and it set off a huge craze. I was delighted to find that this still works and I can still do a loop the loop and 'walk the dog'!
